Women’s History Month: Thinking of Sonia Schieber Weitz, author of I Promised I Would Tell

We wish Sonia Weitz a speedy and full recovery.

Holocaust survivor and poet Sonia Schieber Weitz recently had brain surgery.

Weitz is the author of I Promised I Would Tell, her prose, pictorial and poetic account of her experiences in Auschwitz and other places during the Holocaust.

She has spoken to Facing History and Ourselves audiences for at least a quarter century, dazzling them with her wit, beauty, perspective and grace.

We treasure her contribution and wish her well with recovery.
